Whistle Guide

How do I know what whistle is right for me?

The Low D whistle is the most versatile choice - it’s the go-to whistle for traditional Irish and Scottish music and covers the widest range of tunes.

It’s the largest of the low whistles I sell, but don’t let that intimidate you. Even players with smaller hands can manage it comfortably with a bit of practice and enthusiasm — I’ve seen young players master it beautifully!

The Low F whistle is great for tunes in F, Bb and C, and brings a lovely, distinctive tone when played alongside other instruments.

The Low E whistle suits tunes in E, A and B, offering a rich and resonant sound.

Care and Maintenance

Rhubarb Low Whistles are built to be durable and easy to maintain. The removable mouthpiece and aluminium body can both be cleaned with warm, soapy water. Each whistle comes with PTFE sealing tape to help you fine-tune and maintain the adjustable mouthpiece.

Please avoid very hot water and do not place the whistle in a dishwasher, as this may cause damage.
